2. What apostle was stoned, dragged out of Lystra, and left for dead? (a) John; (b) Paul; or (c) Barnabas?

3. As Paul and Barnabas revisited churches on their first missionary journey, they appointed leaders.
What were these leaders called? (a) Deacons; (b) elders; or (c) bishops.

1. (b) Hermes (Acts 14:12). Hermes is the Greek name for Mercury as he is described in Roman mythology.

2. (b) Paul (Acts 14:19).

3. (b) Elders (Acts14:23). Elder was the common term used for the man who was a leader in the Jewish  synagogue. There  was always more than one elder in each synagogue. The title expressed the dignity of the office and indicated  that the leaders were not young men.

Thanks for sharing these questions. We had a clear and cool day. John fell in the yard and has a knot on his head and a swollen ankle. Guess we'll take it easy this week.
