Familiar Phrases

1. Fill in the blanks: Isaiah ends with words of judgment Jesus would later quote. "For their  ------- does not die, And their  -------- is not quenched."

2. When God called Jeremiah to be His prophet, Jeremiah responded, "Ah, Lord God!, Behold, I cannot speak, for I am a -------- ."

3. Sentence completion: Jeremiah wrote, "The heart is deceitful above all things, And ...?

 

 

1. "Worm... fire" (Is.66:24; Mark 9:44, 46, 48). This judgment was pronounced against those who will oppose the Lord in the final battle of good and evil.

 

 

2, "Youth" (Jer. 1:6). The response of the Lord was that age was not the deciding factor. The  important thing would be that the Lord would command  Jeremiah what to say (v.7).

 

 

3. "Desperately wicked; Who can know it" (Jer. 17:9). Jeremiah immediately answered his own question, "I the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind" (V. 10).
