(a) Jeroboam (Amos1:1). This was not the Jeroboam who led Israel in revolt against Rehoboam, the son of Solomon (1king 12:20). Amos prophesied during the reign of Jeroboam II (767-753 B.C.) almost two hundred years after the first Jeroboam.
