Epistles--Instruction

1. Fill in the blank: In Romans 7, Paul describes the battle inside him as being of the flesh and Spirit. He concludes that if he is doing what he no longer desires to do, it is not he who is doing it, but -------- that dwells in him.

2. Paul concludes  in Romans 8 that , "There is therefore now no -------- to those who are in Christ Jesus."

3. True or false? Those who are in the flesh can please God.

1. Sin (Romans 7:20).

2. "Condemnation" (Romans 8:1). No sentence of guilt can be made to stick against one who has trusted in Christ for salvation from sin.

3. False (Romans 8:8). Here  "flesh" does not refer to the physical body, but rather to the idea of living life by all the impulses that come from the world system.
