Familiar Phrases

1. Sentence completion: Isaiah told King Ahaz, :Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign:  Behold, the virgin shall conceive..."

"And  bear a Son , and shall call His name Immanuel"  (Is. 7:14).

To King Ahaz, this sign had to do with when Syria and Israel would no longer be a military threat against Judah (vv. 1, 16). A greater deliverance was also in the mind of God (Matt. 1:21-23).
