Familiar Phrases

1. Fill in the blanks: Isaiah said of Messiah, "A -------  reed He will not break, And  -------  flax He will not quench."

2. Sentence completion: Isaiah appealed for an audience, "Hear, you deaf; And  look, you blind..."

1. Bruised...smoking" (Is. 42:3).
 
 
2. "That  you may see" (Is. 42:18).  The Lord was concerned that His servant Israel should be both deaf and blind toward the commands and signs given to her (v19).
 
 
3. "New...spring" (Is. 43:19). The new thing will be the restored nation of Israel related to the Lord by His new covenant (vv. 19-21).
