Submit And Resist

Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

James 4:7

 

There are two divine commands in this verse: "submit" and "resist."

Our only legitimate offensive action is to "submit" to God by

consistent cognition and inculcation of Bible doctrine.

 

Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil,

prowls about  like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

But resist hold your ground against him, firm in your faith.

1 Peter 5:8-9a
