Epistles--Instruction

1. Fill in the blanks: Paul's basic instruction in Philippians 4 regarding prayer is, "Be ----------
for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with ----------, let your requests be made known to God."

2. Paul's attitude about life was , "For to me, to live is ----------, and to die is ---------."

3. If we let all our requests be made known to God, we have the assurance that "the ---------- of God,  which surpasses all understanding, will guard [our] hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."

1. "Anxious... thanksgiving" (Phil. 4:6).

2. "Christ....gain" (Phil. 1:21).

3. "Peace"  (Phil. 4:7). Jesus had promised this kind of peace to His followers just before the Crucifixion (John 14:27).  Contrasted with the peace the world gives, it comes in spite of circumstances, rather than because of them.
