Epistles--Instruction

1. Question: In Galatians 4, Paul uses the illustration of Abraham having children by two woman who represent two covenants. One covenant is from Mount Sinai. Which woman, Hagar or Sarah, represents  this covenant?

2. In Galatians 5, Paul specifically names seventeen works of the flesh. Name five of them.

3. Paul lists nine aspects of the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5. Name three of these qualities produced by the Spirit in the believer.


1. Hagar (Gal. 4;21-26). Hagar was the servant of Sarah. Abraham's wife.
 
2. "Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions,
jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, and revelries" (Gal.5:19-21).
 
3. " Love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control"
(Gal. 5:22,23).
