2. Paul desired that the Lord grant mercy to the household of Onesiphorus because he often refreshed Paul and was not ashamed of Paul's: (a) Chain; (b) gospel; or (c) thorn in the flesh.
1. (b) Eunice (2 Tim. 1:5).
2. Chain (2 Tim. 1:16). That Paul refers to his chain helps us identify
this letter as being written from a Roman prison. The first letter to
Timothy was written while he was free.
