1. Multiple choice: Paul told the Roman Christians that it was through Jesus Christ  that he had  "received  grace and (a) Mercy; (b) apostleship; or (c) instruction for obedience to the faith among all nations for His name."

2. What old Testament personality is used by  Paul in Romans 4 as an example of justification by faith? (a) Moses; (b) David; or (c) Abraham.

1. (b) "Apostleship"  (Rom. 1:5). Some Christians called Paul's apostleship into question because he was not one of the original twelve apostles. In Galatians 1:1 , he makes it clear that his apostleship was given directly  by God, not conferred on him by man.

2. (c) Abraham (Rom. 4). Paul also uses Abraham as an  example of faith in Galatians 3:6-9.
