Isagogical Background

During the time of Nehemiah, some of the Jews of Judah

had just returned from the "fifth cycle of discipline" ( Lev.

26:1-30) of the Babylonian captivity. Because of a revolt 

against divine authority, the nation Israel had been split into

two entities. The Northern Kingdom (the ten tribes) called 

"Israel" or Ephraim," had its capital at Samaria, and the Southern

Kingdom (the tribes of Judah and Benjamin) called "Judah", had

its capital at Jerusalem. In 721 B.C. the Northern Kingdom, apostate

and degenerate, had gone into the fifth cycle of discipline under 

military conquest by Assyria to warn Judah of impending calamity

if she continued in the same idolatrous practices of her sister to the north.

"I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh."

Acts 2:17

Dear Lord, sweeten my attitudes. May my life breathe the fresh fragrance of Your Spirit.

God's Viewpoint

Nationalism

Nationalism was set up by God as a means of perpetuating freedom. 

This  means that internationalism, the United Nations and Communism

 are all anti-God, anti-Bible and antinationalism. The national entity must

be preserved so that freedom in all other areas can be maintained.

Nehemiah describes God's viewpoint concerning the nation that will

survive militarily by God's plan; and we will suffer the consequeces

if we do not make some changes quickly. 

 

"All things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive."

Marrhew 21:22

Help me, Father, to believe that you will provide for me this day

and in the future.

For Stability In A Nation

Family

The family concept is right man and right woman functioning

in marriage and training children. The authority in the family is 

invested in the parents. When a maximum number of children

reject the  authority of their parents, then a situation develops such

as we have  in  our country today.  We have youngsters on dope --a

rejection of authority; rioting in the schools and colleges--a rejection 

of authority; criminals on the increase. It starts in the family.

That is why we have the command, "Honor thy father and thy mother

that thy days may be long upon the land...(Ex.20:12)."

This is not only for the individual, but is also a national scale, for

stability in a nation.

"This is the promise that He hath promised us, even eternal life."

1 John 2:25

Dear father, teach me to give priority to the eternal values which

make life worth living.

God's Design

Marriage

God has designed one man for one woman--the "right man--right women 

concept. The opportunity to fine the right one and to enjoy this wonderful

relationship requires freedom of volition. Where a maximum number of

people in a national entity reject the right man--right woman principle, as

well as its proper framework --Divine Institution #2--degeneracy sets in and

that nation begins to decline.

 "Then shalt thou call, and the Lord shall answer; thou shalt cry and He shall say,

Here I am."

Isaiah 58:9

Thank You, heavenly Father, for Your plan of prayer. We are glad You want

us to keep in close touch with You.

Liberty

Volition

Free people have the liberty to make free-will decisions.

Of course, you cannot exercise your volition if you are a

slave; you must be free before your volition can function.

However, if you operate under divine principles, you make

decisions which perpetuate your freedom, and your volition.

"Be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God 

is with thee whither so ever thou goest."

Joshua 1:9

When I feel all alone, Father, help me to remember that You are

with me and I have nothing to fear.

Freedom

Divine Institutions

God has set up certain divine laws for maintenance and

protection of human freedoms. He has instituted certain 

principles which must be obeyed if the human race is to

survive. For instance, we have the Ten Commandments, 

the "Magna Carta" of human freedom. Although these Ten

Commandments are not the Christian way of life, they do

provide principles of freedom for the protection of individuals

within a national entity. The Ten Commandments guarantees

the freedom of any nation operating under these principles.

We  also have the four divine institutions set up by God for

the perpetuation of the human race.

"Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God."

Matthew 5:8

O God of Love, let me serve in Your spirit.

Victory

Today We will start our Bible Study with R.B. Thieme, Jr.

Freedom Through Military Victory

Colonel Thieme attended Dallas Theological Seminary,

where he was graduated Summa um Laude.

There he acquired the Biblical science of textual criticism

and further study of the original languages, making a total

of nine  years of Greek and five of Hebrew.

Next we will start with Four Divine Institutions

Volition, Marriage, Family,Nationalism, 

 "God is with thee in all that thou doest."
