Witnessing

The  declaration of the good news of salvation, the Gospel of 

Jesus Christ, to the  unbelieving  world . But is this  responsibility

and privilege reserved solely for the pastor, missionary, and evangelist?

Definitely not! Every believer is responsible for presenting the Gospel

to a lost and dying world. What do you tell unbelievers about Christ? You

must explain what He accomplished on the cross and how anyone can rec-

eive  this incomparable gift. Your guiding principle is faith alone in Christ

alone. You are the point of contact in the unbeliever's search for meaning

and purpose in life. Without faith in Christ and an eternal future, his life

is ultimately meaningless. When a loved one, a friend, or even a stranger

believes in Christ as Savior from your presentation of the Gospel, you will

experience the inexpressible reward of serving our Lord through witnessing.

Greatest Decision

Victory Over Death

The greatest decision we can make is the one that prepares us

for death and dying-- the decision to personally believe in Jesus

Christ for eternal salvation. Therefore, when a Christian loved

 one dies, we  celebrate  the death of  that believer  as a victory.

Death is God's victory. He gives that victory. He gives that victory

to us by determining the time, the manner, and the place of our death.

God's decision to take a believer home is always fair and timely. This

edited transcript provides comfort from the Scripture and the reassurance

that Jesus Christ Himself has provided victory over death. Available in

Not For To Day

Tongues

They will cease, Distortions have permeated contemporary Christianity

making this one of the most controversial statements in the Bible. Millions

of believers  today profess  to speak a language  they do  not understand, 

claiming a manifestation of the baptism of the Holy Spirit and evidence of

a superior relationship with God. The animation and enthusiasm of their

displays have infiltrated denominations and sects throughout the Christian

world. The spiritual gift of tongues, prophesied by Isaiah, was designed for

a specific divine purpose-- a warning sign to Israel of impending national

destruction. This gift, bestowed by the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost

A. D. 30, would  be an  unmistakable sign of Israel's spiritual failure and

imminent divine  judgment and would also  herald the  new Church Age.

But this spiritual gift is not operational today. The final authority for resolving

the theological conundrum of tongues is the infallible Word of God. Subjective

thinking and emotionalism mislead and obscure the truth of Bible doctrine.

Only the pertinent passages from Scripture, correctly translated and accurately

interpreted, can reveal to  the believer the truth about tongues.

Do not Retreat, Advance

Reversionism

Why do believers sometimes act like unbelievers?

Are they truly saved? Yes, if they have believed in Jesus Christ

they are saved for all eternity. But any Christian who habitually

revolts against God's plan is in reversionism--spiritual decadence

brought on by perpetual carnality and rejection or neglect of Bible

doctrine. Reversionism explains why believers emulate unbelievers.

In  reversionism  sin  becomes  a way of life, yet God  in His grace

 always provides the way of recovery. Avoid the pitfalls of reversionism

through  rebound and consistent spiritual growth. With Bible doctrine

in your  soul  you  can  distinguish  between  human  viewpoint, the 

expression  of  Satan's  diabolical  genius, and  divine viewpoint, the

manifestation of the thinking of Christ.

Be In Perfect Harmony

A Quartette Of Fools

There is no more beautiful sound in all the world than four people

 blending  their voices in  perfect harmony. Conversely,  the most 

lugubrious ululations emanate from voices clashing in  a discord

of sound. Such is the quartette of fools: the atheist fool, the rich 

fool, the shameless fool, and the Christian fool. Three members

cannot sing, cannot harmonize, yet the fourth produces the finest

Happiness

The Pursuit Of Happiness

Scripture declares King Solomon "greater then all the kings of the earth

in riches and wisdom." From  an ivory throne overlaid with pure gold,

Solomon ruled  the prosperous kingdom of Israel. Vast treasures, costly

goods, and rare  novelties like apes and peacocks enriched his noble court.

Yet Solomon  did not have happiness. The Pursuit Of Happiness confirms 

that only  through fellowship with God and the pursuit of His Word  can the

believer attain stability, contentment of soul, and a true and enduring happiness.

Words Of Comfort

Psalm Twenty--Three 

The comforting  words of the  familiar  twenty-third  Psalm resound  through

the  centuries. Written  by David in  his darkest despair, this song of hope holds

a treasure of God's grace and provision for all believers. David faced a revolution

led by  his beloved son Absalom. Forced  to flee for his  life, he relied on the true

Source of  his  security and  prosperity-- the  Lord  Jesus Christ. David's  journey 

through  the  death-shadowed  valley gives  us insight into how a  mature believer

endures  suffering  in  disaster  and  triumphs over  his  enemies. Like  David the 

 believer  who  pursues  Bible doctrine  and  advances to spiritual maturity will be

rewarded with  blessing and prosperity in  time and in  eternity. "The Lord is the

 one  who  keeps  on  shepherding me,"  David  wrote, "I cannot  and do not lack

anything."
