Epistles--Instruction

Sorry in our reading I wrote James , it should be I John.

1. Sentence completion: "If we confess our sins, .....

2. Fill in the blanks: John instructs  his readers, "Do not love the ---------- or the things in the ---------.

If anyone  loves the -----------, the love of the  ---------- is not in him."

3. Question: John names three things  that are in the world and are definitely not from the Father. Name all three as they are mentioned in 1 John 2.

1. " He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"
( 1 John1:9).

2. " World...world...world   Father" 1 John 2:15).

3. "The lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life"  (1 John 2:16).

Many have connected these three avenues of temptation with Eve's fall in  

the Garden of Eden (Gen. 3:6).
