The Military In The National Entity

The protection of a national entity. A national entity is protected in 

two ways: (1) interior protection, which is objectivity in law and good

law enforcement; (2) exterior protection, which is the military estadlishment.

The principle of the military establishment goes back to the days of Abraham

when, with a small but well-trained army, he defeated the superior forces of 

Chedorlaomer  (Gen.14).

"I am the light of the world: he that followeth Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life."

Protect and Serve

Intelligent Demobilization

And it came to pass from that time forth, that the half of my 

servants wrought in the work, and the other half of them held 

both the spears, the shields, and the bows, and the habergeons; 

and the rulers were behind all the house of Judah (Neh. 4:16).

They (the demobilized troops) which builded on the wall,

and they that bear burdens (the rock carries), with those that 

laded, every one with one of his hands wrought in the work,

and with the other group (literally) held a weapon (Neh.4:17).

We could sure learn a lesson from  the Bible about national 

security. Of course for maybe 200 years we did.

"The Lord shall open unto thee His good treasure."

Deuteronomy 28:12

O Lord, let my life reflect the joy You have put into my heart,

that Your name may be glorified.

Be Prepared

Military Preparation Prevents Wars

And it came to pass, when our enemies heard that it was known

unto us, and God had brought their counsel to nought, that we 

returned all of us to the wall,every one unto his work (Neh. 4:15.)

The crisis passed without a battle. Why? Because they were ready

to fight! Being prepared to fight is the greatest deterrent to war.

But the Jews did learn from Bible doctrine and from their own

history.

God the Holy Spirit is telling us something in verse 15: there is a 

relationship between spiritual life and military preparation.

"Forgive, and ye shall be forgiven."

Luke 6:37

Heavenly Father, since I want to be forgiven, help me be forgiving.

Faith--Rest

"Remember the Lord " in time of war, and remember the Lord of 

Host is "great and terrible." The word 'terrible" means "a mighty 

warrior." Remember that the Lord is a mighty  Warrior! Nehemiah

was telling them to use the faith-rest technique, in view of divine

essence! Remember 1 Samuel 17:47, "The battle is the Lord's" ;

remember  2 Chronicles 20:15, "Thus saith the Lord unto you, Be

not afraid, nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the

battle is not yours, but God's". You have Bible doctrine---use it!

"Remember the Lord, who is a great and a mighty Warrior."

" I am the door : by Me if any man enter in, he shall be saved

 and shall go in and out, and find pasture"

John 10:9

Lord, thank You for canceling my sentence of death.

Human Viewpoint

Civilian Preparation

Look again at the last phrase of verse 13: "with their swords, with

their spears, and with their bows." They had weapons, and they knew

how to use them. They had the means to protect their country and their

loved ones.

And I looked, and rose up, and said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and

to the rest of the people, Be ye not afraid of them: remember the Lord,

which is great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your

daughters, your wives, and your houses (Neh.4:14).

He wanted them to think divine viewpoint. So he encouraged them:

"Be ye not afraid!" Fear is a mental attitude sin; it is human viewpoint.

"Fear not" get the divine perspective!

"My grace is sufficient for thee: for My strength is made perfect

in weakness."  ( 2 Corinthians 12:9)

God help me to be aware of my limitations and to be willing and ready

to ask for Your help.

Nehemiah Took Charge

The enemy stated two of their objectives; "Slay them, and cause the 

work to cease". These four armies knew the value of the military and

military defenses; therefore, they wanted to make sure that these defenses

were never established. This should tell you something about the Jew of 

the ancient world: like his counterpart in modern Israel he was courageous,

he was a great soldier; he was a great fighter!

And it came to pass, that when the Jews which dwelt by them came, they

said unto us ten times, From all places whence ye shall return unto us they

will be upon you (Neh. 4:12). 

 

Therefore set I the lower places behind the wall, and on the higher places,

I even set the people after their families with their swords, their spears, and 

their bows (Neh. 4:13). 

 

This verse demonstrates  that Nehemiah understood strategy and tactics.

 

"Call upon Me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee,

and thou shalt glorify Me.

Psalm 50:15

Father, give me the wisdom You have promised to those who seek You.

A Surprise Attack

And our adversaries said, They shall not know, neither see

(conspiracy), till we come in the midst among them, and slay

them, and cause the work to cease (Neh. 4:11).

Who were their adversaries? They were the Samaritans, the

Arabs, the Philistines and the Ammonites. Four armies had 

converged on Jerusalem, and they had already formed an 

alliance and made their plans. What  were their plans? Surprise

attack! A Pearl Harbor type of attack. The enemy was saying.

"They will never know what hit them; we have the advantage

of surprise."  But the advantage of surprise was offset by the

fact the Jewish army was a well-trained, well- organized, well-

functioning army, ready for battle.

 

 "Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you."

1 Peter 5:7

 

O Lord, help me understand the reasons for Your chastening.

We Have Problems

Internal And External Problems

 

And Judah said (these are the Jews), The strength of the bearers

of burdens is decayed, and there is much rubbish; so that we are

not able to build the wall (Neh. 4:10).

"The word "decayed" in the Hebrew indicates growing weak.

There was so much rubble to remove that they were not able

to move on to the actual construction of the walls! So much

for the internal problem; next to the external.

"Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land,

and verily thou shalt be fed."

Psalm 37:3

Lord, let me be a messenger, as I

walk in the world today.

Spiritual Preparation First

National Response

Nevertheless we made our prayer unto our God, and set a 

watch against them day and night, because of them  (Neh.4:9).

When the Jews came back to the land, they did two things : first

of all, they restored the function of the priesthood, as indicated

in Zechariah (the spiritual emphasis); and second, as

 indicated 

in Nehemiah, they put an army together immediately (the 

nationalistic emphasis). That is why "nevertheless" is at the 

beginning of verse 9; for on the other side of "nevertheless" are

the two areas in which a nation must always maintain preparedness,

The first is spiritual preparation.and the second is military preparation'

Spiritual preparation must always come first.

"For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and 

plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon Him."

Psalm 86:5

God, thank You for loving me for myself and dying that

I might live. Teach me to feel that kind of love for others

as well as myself.

Never Ending Even Up To This Day.

"And all of them conspired together to join forces to come

to fight against Jerusalem to do harm unto it"

This  clearly states their objectives, which were hostility, tyranny,

enslavement, neutralization, exploitation--everything that would

remove freedom from the Jews!

Neh. 4:8

"Cast thy burden upon the Lord; and He shall sustain thee:

He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved."

Psalm 55:22

Our trust is in Thee, O God. Let us never give in to discouragement.

Conspiracy

3 Enemy Activity

 

"Neh. 4:8)  "All of them" is the subject of this sentence, so it should read

"And all of them conspired together---" Here is the principle: conspiracy

means antagonism; conspiracy means murder; conspiracy means to neutralize,

to  enslave, to practice tyranny. They all had the same objective: never permit

the Jews to get on their feet militarily! The walls of Jerusalem meant military

stability in Jerusalem. No walls--no defense!

 

There are several conspiracies against the United States of America today.

That verse demonstrates the necessity of national defense! It also reveals 

the fact that our enemies will not like it! But since when!!! do we operate 

on the basis of whether or not our enemies like it? 

 

"He that overcometh shall inherit all things and I will be his God,

and he shall be My son."

Revelation 21:7

 

Burn through me, O fire of God, and cleanse me of all dross.

Emotional Revolt

2 Enemy Activity

The four groups had heard rumors: the Jews come back from Babylon and

were beginning construction on the walls of Jerusalem; the breaches in the 

wall were being filled in! What was their reaction to this? "Then they were

very worth." There are several words in the Hebrew language for "anger",

 but this is the strongest. Their anger was intense and continual.

The hostile reaction to the reconstruction of the defense system in 

Jerusalem in Nehemiah's day was due to a perpetual mental attitude

sin complex which included an emotional revolt in the soul of the enemy.

And conspired all of them together to come and to fight against Jerusalem,

and to hinder it (Neh.4:8).

"He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will 

not slumber."   Psalm 121:3

 

Heavenly Father, remind me that You are always ready to help us

 through life, no matter how difficult the task may seem.

Stop the Breaches

Enemy Activity

We pick up the passage where the Jews encounter opposition

to the rebuilding of the walls.

But it came to pass, that when Sanballat, and Tobiah, and the

Arabians, and the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites, heard that 

the walls of Jerusalem were made up, and that the breaches began

to be stopped, then they were very wroth (Neh. 4:7).

Four enemies of Jerusalem are mentioned: Sanballat, who is the 

leader of the Samaritans, enemies of Judah to the north; Tobiah and

the Arabians,enemies to the east; the Ammonites, enemies to the northeast;

and the Ashdodites, the surviving Philistines at this time in history, enemies

to the south.

"Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God."

Matthew 5:9

Dear Lord, help me today and every day to be a peacemaker for those around

me. Help me to do good, to seek peace and pursue it.

The Walls Are Broken---Reconstruct Them

3 Isagogical Background

After the fall of Jerusalem in 586 B.C., the walls had been broken

down along with the palaces and the Temple. The people who had

returned after the seventy years of captivity were the children or the

grandchildren of those young people of Jeremiah's day who went into 

slavery to Babylon. These Jews had come back to the land to reconstruct

the walls.

In that day it was imperative that every major city have a defense

system. The book of Nehemiah records the events surrounding the

reconstruction of a new military defense system for Jerusalem, while

the book of Ezra records the rebuilding of the Temple. The first book

emphasizes the import of military life in a national entity; the latter, the

importance of spiritual life.

"He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might 

He increaseth strength."

Isaiah 40:29

Dear Jesus, help me walk  in the courage of my faith.

They Ignored The Glory Of God

2- Isagogical Background

The failures of these Jews, from the standpoint of spiritual,economic,

military, and social life, will comprise the background for our study.

They ignored the principles of freedom by which a national entity

functions to the glory of God. Finally in 586 B.C. the Southern Kingdom

was conquered by the armies of Nebuchadnezzar and taken into captivity

by the Chaldeans.

 

"Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My words shall not pass away."

Matthew 24:35

 

Help me, Lord, to remember that by thy word the heavens and earth

were formed and by thy word we one day will awake in thy likeness.

Discipline

Isagogical Background

During the time of Nehemiah, some of the Jews of Judah

had just returned from the "fifth cycle of discipline" ( Lev.

26:1-30) of the Babylonian captivity. Because of a revolt 

against divine authority, the nation Israel had been split into

two entities. The Northern Kingdom (the ten tribes) called 

"Israel" or Ephraim," had its capital at Samaria, and the Southern

Kingdom (the tribes of Judah and Benjamin) called "Judah", had

its capital at Jerusalem. In 721 B.C. the Northern Kingdom, apostate

and degenerate, had gone into the fifth cycle of discipline under 

military conquest by Assyria to warn Judah of impending calamity

if she continued in the same idolatrous practices of her sister to the north.

"I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh."

Acts 2:17

Dear Lord, sweeten my attitudes. May my life breathe the fresh fragrance of Your Spirit.

God's Viewpoint

Nationalism

Nationalism was set up by God as a means of perpetuating freedom. 

This  means that internationalism, the United Nations and Communism

 are all anti-God, anti-Bible and antinationalism. The national entity must

be preserved so that freedom in all other areas can be maintained.

Nehemiah describes God's viewpoint concerning the nation that will

survive militarily by God's plan; and we will suffer the consequeces

if we do not make some changes quickly. 

 

"All things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive."

Marrhew 21:22

Help me, Father, to believe that you will provide for me this day

and in the future.

For Stability In A Nation

Family

The family concept is right man and right woman functioning

in marriage and training children. The authority in the family is 

invested in the parents. When a maximum number of children

reject the  authority of their parents, then a situation develops such

as we have  in  our country today.  We have youngsters on dope --a

rejection of authority; rioting in the schools and colleges--a rejection 

of authority; criminals on the increase. It starts in the family.

That is why we have the command, "Honor thy father and thy mother

that thy days may be long upon the land...(Ex.20:12)."

This is not only for the individual, but is also a national scale, for

stability in a nation.

"This is the promise that He hath promised us, even eternal life."

1 John 2:25

Dear father, teach me to give priority to the eternal values which

make life worth living.

God's Design

Marriage

God has designed one man for one woman--the "right man--right women 

concept. The opportunity to fine the right one and to enjoy this wonderful

relationship requires freedom of volition. Where a maximum number of

people in a national entity reject the right man--right woman principle, as

well as its proper framework --Divine Institution #2--degeneracy sets in and

that nation begins to decline.

Thank You, heavenly Father, for Your plan of prayer. We are glad You want

Liberty

Volition

Free people have the liberty to make free-will decisions.

Of course, you cannot exercise your volition if you are a

slave; you must be free before your volition can function.

However, if you operate under divine principles, you make

decisions which perpetuate your freedom, and your volition.

"Be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God 

is with thee whither so ever thou goest."

Joshua 1:9

When I feel all alone, Father, help me to remember that You are

with me and I have nothing to fear.

Freedom

Divine Institutions

God has set up certain divine laws for maintenance and

protection of human freedoms. He has instituted certain 

principles which must be obeyed if the human race is to

survive. For instance, we have the Ten Commandments, 

the "Magna Carta" of human freedom. Although these Ten

Commandments are not the Christian way of life, they do

provide principles of freedom for the protection of individuals

within a national entity. The Ten Commandments guarantees

the freedom of any nation operating under these principles.

We  also have the four divine institutions set up by God for

the perpetuation of the human race.

"Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God."

Matthew 5:8

O God of Love, let me serve in Your spirit.

Thus We See

that the believer's orientation to God's timetable is vitally necessary 

for understanding God's Plan and purpose in any given generation.

Dispensations provide the framework for understanding the Bible

and rightly dividing the Word of Truth. Learn this lesson well, or

you will always be vulnerable to the false teachings which arise from

taking Scriptures out of context!

Perfect Environment

During The Millennium

The intensified part of the angelic conflict will be over. 

"Operation Footstool" (the defeat of Satan and the fallen

angels), as a part of the angelic conflict, has been completed

(Heb.1:13). Perfect environment on the earth will be possible

because there will be no angelic interference from Satan and

his demons.

"Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion: for, lo, I come,

and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the Lord."

Zechariah 2:10

O God, I want to begin this day You have given to me 

in worship and dependence on You.

Ambassadors

3. Church Age

In the Age of the  Church, angels, for the first time in history, 

are the guardian-servants of believers and also learn from them

(1 Cor. 4:9; 1 Tim. 5:21; 1 Pet. 1:12).

All believers are in full-time Christian service as ambassadors

for Jesus Christ. Since Christ is in heaven, we are His representatives

here on earth. The emphasis is on the fact that by means of the Church,

angels are watching us and learning every facet of God's Plan. This  caught

Satan completely off guard.

"In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths."

Proverbs 3:6

O God, help me to keep You first in my life.

2. Church Age

And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery,

which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who

created all things by Jesus Christ. To the intent that now unto the 

principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by 

the church the manifold wisdom of God (Eph. 3: 9, 10).

 

What was the purpose of keeping Church Age doctrine a mystery?

We must understand that "principalities and powers in heavenly places"

refer to the angelic creation. Although all Dispensations are related to the

angelic conflict, the Church was kept "under wraps" before it became a 

reality as a protection against Satanic attack. 

"Yet a little while, and the world seeth Me no more; but ye see Me:

because I live, ye shall live also."

John 14:19

Father, I thank You for healing my eyes so I can see You and live!

Good News

Church Age

Our first knowledge of the doctrines of the Church is stated in

John, Chapters 14 through 17, when  Christ gave this information 

prophetically. Now "good news" or the Gospel itself is not a mystery:

the Gospel has always been clearly revealed and understood. Every

reference to the "mystery" is a declaration of Church doctrine on a 

confidential basis for believers in this Dispensation (Rom.16:25, 26;

1 Cor. 15:51; Eph.1:9; 5:32; Col. 1:25, 26; 2:2; 1 Tim.3:16; Rev,1:20). 

"The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from

this time forth, and even for evermore."

Psalm 121:8

Dear Lord, I pray that you will keep me alert to Satan's clever 

attacks.

Christ The Foundation

The Old Testament

Writers from Genesis to Malachi did not know about the Church Age,

as the Church is never mentioned in the Old Testament. The only two

references in the Gospels are Matthew 18:17, where instructions involve

an  assembly of believers, and in Matthew 16:18, where Christ  prophesied

the future establishment of the Church, with Himself as the foundation.

Peter verifies this in 1 Peter 2:4-9, thereby disqualifying any future claims

that he founded the Church or was the first Pope! 

"As far as the east is from the west, so far hath He removed our transgressions

from us."   Psalm 103:12

Lord, help me accept the Kingdom offered me, even if it 

means a different way of thinking, a different way of living.

Understand

The Mystery

Time orientation demands that believers orient to the Dispensation

in which they live. In Ephesians, Chapter 3, Paul explains why we

must understand this portion of God's revelation.

If ye have heard of the dispensation of the  grace of God which is

given me to you-ward: How that by revelation he made known unto

me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, Whereby, when ye

read, YE MAY UNDERSTAND my  knowledge in the mystery

of Christ) Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons 

of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by

the Spirit (Eph. 3:2-5).

 "The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be
watered also himself."
Proverbs 11:25

Father, let me stop being stingy with my love.

By Faith

12 Salvation

As in every Dispensation, salvation will be by faith

in Jesus Christ. The Old Testament sacrifices will be

resumed as a memorial to the grace of God.

"They that sow in tears shall reap in joy"

Psalm 126:5

Father, may the seeds of suffering or sorrow flower

into joy in  all life.

Justice And Punishment

11 Extended Life Span

(Isa. 65:20) Justice will be available to all, including immediate

punishment for crimes (Pas. 72: 2-9; Isa.11:3-5). Apparently

the only reason people will die in the Millennium is the authorized

by the Lord.

 "All that the Father giveth Me shall come to Me,

and him that cometh to Me I will in no wise cast out."

John 6:37

 

Father, remind us of why we are the objects of Your 

constant love and care.

Judgment

10 No Unbelievers

The Millennial civilization begins with believers only.

All Jewish and Gentile unbelievers are removed through

the Baptism of Fire. The unbelieving Jews are judged according

to Malachi 3:2-5; 4: 1, 2 and Ezekiel 20:37, 38. The judgment 

of unbelieving Gentiles is given in Matthew 25:31-46. The word

"nations" in verse 32 refers to Gentiles.

" For in that He Himself hath suffered being tempted, He is able to 

succor them that are tempted.

Hebrews 2:18

Thanks, Lord, for being willing to suffer so You could help when 

temptations come.

Plant Life Will Abound

9 Radical Changes in Nature

First  of all, mankind will be loosened from the bonage of sin

(Rom. 8:19-22). Secondly, since sin had an adverse effect on 

nature (Gen. 3:17, 18), animals will lose their ferocity, as per 

Isaiah 11:6-8 and 65:25. Thirdly, plant life will abound; so for

those who like flowers, there is nothing like the Millennium

(Isa. 35:1,2,7).

"I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear MyVoice, and open

the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me."

Revelation 3:20

Lord, teach me to listen. Help me to creatively wait in thy presence. 

May thy voice find mine a listening ear.

Knowledge

8. Universal Knowledge of God

"For the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord,

as the waters cover the sea" 

(Isa. 11:9).

"He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds."

Psalm 14:3

Thank You, Lord that I have my brothers and sisters in Christ

who offer a consoling word when the tears fall.

They Will Revolt

7 Universal Prosperity

Free enterprise will reach an all time high during the Millennium

(Psa. 72:7, 16). How about that? Two chickens in every pot! But 

since people become bored even in prosperity, they will revolt 

against God's perfect provisions at the end of the Millennium.

 

"He is able... to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him,

seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for them.

Hebrews 7:25

 

Jesus, thank you for changing my life. Help me to share with

others about the wonderful things you have done.

We Are Alive Because?

6 Universal Peace-3

Then if war does occur, it will hopefully be of short duration.

Our military establishment has been ridiculed and undermined

to a great extent; Actually, the only thing that keeps us alive is

the grace of God. 

We would not be here at all if it were not for (a) believers who 

are taking in Bible doctrine and witnessing; (b) missionaries

who know the Lord and are going out with the Gospel; and (c)

the fact that our nation as a whole is Not anti-Semitic (Gen.12:3).

"If two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask,

it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven."

Matthew 18:19

Father, forgive my faith. Thank you for showing me that if I have faith,

I must prove it by compassion.

Hot And Cold Wars

6. Universal Peace: 2

Jesus said in Matthew 24:6,7

And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars : see that ye be not troubled:

for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation 

shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall

be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

This means both hot wars and cold wars! So today, if people really believe

the Bible, there is just one thing for a nation to do: prepare for war!

" Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven."

Luke 6:23

Lord, help us to put a new joy in our living.

Free Of Conflict

6. Universal Peace

For the first time since the Fall, the world will be free from conflict

(Psa. 46:9; Hos.2:18; Mic.4:3).

...and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears

into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation,

neither shall they learn war any more (Isa. 2:4).

Only then will there be no need for strong national military forces;

but this passage does not apply to us today.

" The Word of the Lord endureth for ever."

1 Peter 1:25

Help us who are finite to believe in the inspired Word that speaks to us of Thee.

Perfect Government

5. True Internationalism

The reign of Jesus Christ on earth will mean a universal rule of the

world, but nations will still exist. At that point, there will finally

be perfect world government (Psa.72; Isa. 11:1-5; Zech. 14:9).

"The Lord thy God, He is God, the faithful God, which keepeth

covenant and mercy with them that love Him."

Deuteronomy 7:9

Lord, so bine our hearts to thee that people will see You

and Your church in their beauty.

Break the Cycle

3. Great Spirituality

There will be a maximum number of believers filled with 

the Holy Spirit, and ecstatics will be bone fide during this 

period (Joel 2:28,29).

4. Israel Restored

Israel will be regathered universally as a nation under God.

Their right to the Land today doesn't mean a thing------

except that their right to the Land will be challenged until 

Christ  returns! God promised that He  would restore them. 

When Christ returns to the earth, He will regather Israel

(Isa. 35:3-10; Ezek. 20:34). Only  Jesus Christ can break 

the fifth cycle of discipline.

"The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms."

Deuteronomy 33:27

Dear Lord, help us to give up our fears, and anxieties and give ourselves

fully to you.

Screwballs!

There are twelve general characteristics of the 

Age of Christ

 

1. Perfect environment

for one thousand years there will be perfect conditions on the earth.

(Isa. 11:1-9)

2.  No religion

In order to have perfect environment, religion must be removed from 

the world. Satan is the father of religion (John 8:44); and since he will

be imprisoned for one thousand years (Rev.20:1-3), his ace trump---

religion-- goes with him! There will be no more cults with their

 "screwballs" knocking at your door!

"He that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved."

Matthew 24:13

 

God, give me a faith that does not waver.

The Justice Of God

The Last Judgment

A final judgment of all unbelievers following the destruction of earth. 

Jesus Christ will be the Judge, and the issue will be: do you stand on

your own works or the works of Christ? Those who have rejected the

judgment of their sins at the Cross must accept the justice of God at

the Great White Throne (Rev. 20: 11-15).

"As I was with Moses, so I will be with thee."

Joshua 3:7

Dear Lord, please remove all doubt from my mind and help

me to have faith in Your promises.

It Will Occur

Destruction of the Universe

This will occur as recorded in 2 Peter 3:7-13,

when the earth, as we know it , will no longer exist.

"Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord,

and He shall lift you up."

James 4:10

Lord, help me to be honest and humble enough to acknowledge

my need of moral and spiritual help from others as well as Your

divine help.

The Only Answer

The Second Advent of Satan

This takes place at the end of the one thousand years. "He Satan must be loosed a little season'

(Rev.20:3). Satan persuades the unbelievers of the Millennium to rebel against perfect

environment and the reign of Jesus Christ and leads the revolt against God. This demonstrates

that perfect environment (or even good or better environment) is not the solution to man's

 problems. The principle that improving environment solves man's problems is one of the basic

tenets of psychology and psychiatry. Socialism even goes so far as to say: ("We will improve

your environment and you will be happy." But a relationship with the Person of Jesus Christ

is the only answer! 

"Call upon Me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee."

Psalm 50:15

Father, I want to live close enough to know that when I call, you will answer.

Some Will Be Negative

So the Millennial civilization starts  with  believers only. However,

in the course of the repopulation of  the Millennial earth, because

people still possess an old sin nature, many will become  negative

and eventually reject Christ as Savior.

 

 "If ye continue in My word, then are ye My disciples indeed."

John 8:31

Lord, May our love for You increase. May our desire for Your 

word grow into delight.

Cast Off

The Second Advent of Christ

When Christ returns to the earth, the Millennial Age begins.

The Baptism of Fire

As one of the first activities of Christ when He returns to the earth,

He separates surviving believers  from unbelievers. All unbelievers

are cast off the earth; all believers from the Tribulation go into the

Millenniun. John the Baptist prophesied concerning this in Matthew 3:11;

the details are given in Matthew 24:36-41 and 25:31-46.

"Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in Him;

and He shall bring it to pass".

Psalm 37:5

Lord, we want to be more like You. May we see where changes 

are necessary, and trust You for the help we need.

Millennium

Age Of Christ

The fourth and final Dispensation is the Millennium, or the 

Age of Christ. For one thousand years, Christ will rule on

the earth (Rev.20:4) as the Administrator. This Dispensation

is also divided into several parts.

 

"God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes."

Revelation 21:4

 

Dear Savior, help me to grow in your grace

even when the tears are falling!

 

Salvation

As in all four Dispensations, salvation is by faith in Jesus Christ

Act 16:31

This has been the eight characteristics of the Church Age,

and these are the believer's unique assets.

Don't be a Layman

Filling of the Holy Spirit

The means of executing this supernatural way of life is the filling

of the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 5:18 commands every believer to be

filled with the Spirit; 1 John 1:9 specifies the mechanics. Under this

concept, every believer is an ambassador for Christ; therefore, every

believer is in full-time Christian service, and this does not require a 

"one-shot" dedication on your part. Your full-time Christian service

may be different from someone else's  because he is in a barracks

while you are in an office; he is in a shop--- you are on a farm; he is 

in the home---you are on a campus. Everyone has his own area of

Christian service, and there is actually no such thing as a "layman",

unless it is a Christian who  "lays" down on his job!

"The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: He shall preserve thy soul."

Psalm 121:7

Dear Lord, how precious is the assurance of Your presence!
