Acts of the Apostles

1. Multiple choice: Who was the ruler of the Corinthian synagogue who believed on the Lord in response to Paul's preaching? (a) Crispus; (b) Justus; or (c) Festus.

2. Who lived next door to the synagogue and housed Paul during at least part of his stay in Corinth?
(a) Justus; (b) Jason; or (c) Gallio.

3. After Crispus became a Christian, who replaced him as ruler of the Jewish synagogue in Corinth?
(a) Sosthenes; (b) Hermes; or (c) Justus.

1. (a) Crispus (Acts 18:8). Crispus was one of the few converts that Paul baptized personally in Corinth . (1 Con.1:14--16).

2. (a) Justus (Acts 18:7). Some identify this man as the Gaius that Paul baptized in Corinth (1Con. 1:14) and also as Paul's host during the time he penned the letter to the church at Rome (Rom.
16:23).

3. (a) Sosthenes (Acts 18:17). It is most probable that Sosthenes also became a Christian since Paul
calls him a brother in his salutation of the first epistle to the Corinthians.
