Sentence completion: After God confronted Job for speaking rashly, Job was humbled and said, "I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, But now my eye sees You. Therefore I abhor myself, And----"
" Repent in dust and ashes" (Job 42 : 5, 6 )
Job's friends had wanted him to repent of some prior sin of commission, but God wanted him to repent of a present attitudinal sin. Argument did not accomplish what a glimpse of God did.

That is an awesome insight into this passage, Patsy! It goes along with my thoughts today. Isn't God good - the way He confirms His Word to us!
