Have Hope

 

 

For everything that was written in the past was written to teach

us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the

Scriptures we might have hope.

Romans 15:4 NIV

 

"Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God."

Our Father, help us to hold fast to our faith in you. Give us
strength and courage not to give up under pressure.

The Spirit and the Saints

By means of every prayer and petition, be praying on every

occasion in the (filling of the) Spirit, also with reference to

prayer, be on the alert with all persistent determination and

supplication for all things concerning all saints (the Royal Family).

Ephesians 6:18

 

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of  prayers

and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on 

praying for all the saints.

"Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart."
Psalm 27:14

When I don't know what to do, Father, help me wait for my instructions.

Warfare

 

War was declared in heaven when Satan became the

 irreconcilable enemy of God and when one third of

all angelic beings  defected to  his side. The wars which

we experience on earth are but an extension of the angelic conflict.

 

Rev.12:4

 

His tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them

to the earth. The dragon stood in front of the woman who was

about to give birth, so that he might devour her child the moment

it was born.

 

"For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of His mouth cometh
knowledge and understanding."
Proverbs 2:6

Dear God, we are grateful for the help that You are so ready
and willing to give us. Help us to be willing and ready to help others.

Redemption

The purchase of a slave from the slave market of sin and the

act of setting him free. Jesus Christ paid the ransom with

his blood, which represents His spiritual death on the Cross.

1 Pet.1:18,19

"He shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone."
Psalm 91:11,12

Help us always sense thy Presence, not only in time of trouble.

Do Not Be Anxious

Do not fear, for I am with you;  Do not anxiously look about

you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will

help you, surely I uphold you with My righteous right hand.

Isaiah 41:10

 

 

"God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear Him."
Psalm 67:7

Loving Father, thank you for your blessings because they demonstrate
to the world your love for me.



Don't Grow Cold

Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death,

and you will be hated  by all nations because of me. At that time many

will turn away from the faith and will betray  and  hate each other, and

many false prophets  will appear and deceive many people. Be cause of

the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but he who

stands firm to the end will be saved.

 

Matthew 24: 9, 10, 11,12, 13

 

" If thou draw out thy  soul; to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul;
then shall thy light rise in obscurity."
Isaiah 58:10

Lord, help me to awake to the needs around me. Help me to reach
out to those who need your love and care.

Watch Out For Deceivers

You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are

not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come,

Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.

There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these

are the beginning of birth pain.

Matthew 24 : 6, 7, 8

 

"And let us not be weary in well doing; for in due season we shall reap,
if we faint not."
Galatians 6:9

Thank you, God, for people who help with no thought of
recognition or reward. Help me to be one of those people.

Deposes Them

"Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever; wisdom and power are his.

He changes times and seasons; he sets up kings and deposes them. He gives

wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning. He reveals deep and

 hidden things ; he knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with him.

 

Daniel 2:20, 22

 

"Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake:
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."
Matthew 5: 10

Our Father, help us to lift our eyes above the disquieting things around us.
Help us center our thoughts and affections on you.

Quiet Life

But we urge you, brethren, to excel still more, and to make it your

ambition to lead  a quiet life and attend to your own business and

work  with your hands, just as we commanded you; so that you may

behave properly toward outsiders and not be in any need.

1 Thessalonians 4:10, 11,12

 

" I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight."

Dear Lord, my path may be strange; it may be dark. Help me
not to fear since you light the way. I can safely follow you.

Ashamed

For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world,

and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for

his soul? Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of Me and of

My words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of  him also

shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory

of His Father with the holy angels.

Mark 8: 36,37,38

 

"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: and I give
unto them eternal life."
John 10:27,28

Help me, heavenly Father, to find the time this day to be alone with You.

Beautiful Feet

How , then, can they call on the one they have not believed in?

And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not

heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to

them? And how  can they preach unless they are sent? As it

is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good

news. For Isaiah says, "Lord, who  has believed our  message?"

Romans 10: 14,15,16

 



"The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles."
Psalm 34:17

O Lord, let me not be afraid to ask for help.

Praise

Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise;

give thanks to Him and praise His name. For the Lord is good

and His love endures for ever; His faithfulness continues

through all generations.

Male And Female

So God created man in His own image, in the image

of God He created him; male and female He  created them.

Lord Jesus, help me to see the evidence of Your presence and to
be with those who keep Your commandments.

Polluted

If anyone considers  himself religious and yet does not keep a tight

rein  on his tongue, he deceives himself and his religion is worthless.

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this :

to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep one

self from being polluted by the world.

James 1: 26,27

 

" Because he hath set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him:
I will set him on high, because he hath known My name,"

Lord, help me to look to you in any difficult situation, knowing
that whatever my need, you will in some way supply it.

Don't Be A (Dim)wit And Live In And Out Of The Light

This is the verdict: Light (Jesus Christ) has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead

of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light,

 and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever

lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has

done has been done through God.

 

John 3:19,20, 21

"I will establish My covenant with you:- - - neither shall there
any more be a flood to destroy the earth."
Genesis 9:11

Dear Lord, help me to build on a firm foundation, learning to diligently
seek Thy direction in all I do.

Experts

Woe to you experts in the law, because you have taken

away the key to knowledge. You  yourselves have not

entered , and you have hindered those who were entering.

Luke 11:52

 

" God shall wipe away all the tears from their eyes."

Dear Savior, help me to grow in your grace- - - even when the tears are falling!

Bold And Arrogant

This is especially true of those who follow the corrupt desire of the sinful nature

and despise authority. Bold and arrogant, these men are not afraid to slander celestial

beings; yet even angels, although they are stronger  and more powerful, do not bring

slanderous accusations against such beings in the presence of the Lord. But these men

blaspheme in matters they do not understand. They are like brute beasts, creatures of

instinct, born only to be caught and destroyed, and like beasts they too will perish.

"Delight thy self in the Lord; and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart."

Father, Author and Giver of life, to believe in You is to accept
life with all its potential and hope and happiness.

Shut The Door

Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you,

will try to enter and will not be able to. Once the owner of the house gets up

and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, "Sir,open

the door for us." "But he will answer, 'I don't know you or where you come from.'

Dear Father, thank you for the Holy Spirit and for the strength he gives.
Teach me how to fix my thoughts on you and your love and power.

I Perceive

Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive

that God is no respecter of persons: but in every nation he

that feareth Him, worketh righteousness, is accepted with Him.

"Whoso hearkeneth unto Me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet
from fear of evil."

Dear Lord, as we rely on you for our security, may we live so
we can help some others find the security they need.

Honor

Children, Obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.

"Honor your father and your mother" ---which is the first

commandment with a promise----"that it may go well with you

and that you may enjoy long life on the earth."

Fathers, do not exasperate  your children ; instead, bring  them

up in the training and instruction of the Lord.

"The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O Lord, endureth for ever."
Psalm 138:8

Thank you, Father, for the joy and peace You have given me.

Your Mouth

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth

confession is made unto salvation. for the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on Him

shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and Greek: for the same

Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon Him. For whosoever shall call upon the name

of the Lord shall be saved.

Romans 10: 10,11,12,13

 

 

" When I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me."

Micah 7:8

 

Thank you, dear Lord, for Your precious light. Keep

my vision clear, that I may only travel on Your lighted pathway.

Suffer

Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed;

 but let him glorify God on this behalf. For the time is come that

judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin

at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of

God? And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the

ungodly and the sinner appear?

"He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds."

Thank you, Lord that I have my brothers and sisters in Christ

who offer a consoling word when the tears fall.

Being Ignorant

For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to

establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves

unto the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law

for righteousness to every one that believeth.

 

Romans 10: 3,4

 

"If ye continue in My word, then are ye My disciples indeed".

Lord, May our love for You increase. May our desire for Your
word grow into delight.

Joyful

Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances,

for this is Gods will for you in Christ Jesus. Do not put out the spirit's

fire; do not treat prophecies with contempt. Test  everything. Hold on

to the good. Avoid every kind of evil.

"But in every nation he that feareth Him, and worketh righteousness,
is accepted with Him."

Lord, grant us the determination to overcome all obstacles
in our discovery of your love.

Wisdom Better Then Folly

The heart of the wise inclines to the right, but the heart of

the fool to the left. Even as he walks along the road, the fool

lacks sense  and shows everyone how stupid he is.

Ecclesiastes 10: 2,3

 

"Call  upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee."
Psalm 50:15

Father, I want to live close enough to know that when
I call, you will answer.

Lacking And Tossed

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask God , that giveth to all

men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave

of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

"Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou shalt stretch forth thine hand
against the wrath of mine enemies."

Heavenly Father, how grateful I am that I am not left alone to
flounder in weakness. Strengthen me through the lifeline of prayer.

New Moon

Praise ye the Lord. Praise ye the Lord from the heavens: praise Him in the heights.

that be  above the heavens. Let them praise the name of the Lord: for He

Seek His Glory

Jesus answered  them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but His that sent me.

If any man will do His will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of GOD,

or whether I speak of Myself. He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory:

but  he that seeketh His glory that sent him, the same is true, and
no unrighteousness is in him.

 John 7:16,17,18

"Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive
the crown of life, which he hath promised to them that love Him."
James 1:12

Dear God, this is a new day and I may face unexpected temptation.
Please help me to keep free from evil.

The Cure For Worry

Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt,

 and where thieves break through and steal: But  lay up for yourselves treasures  in heaven,

where neither moth  nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Matthew 6:19,20,21

 

"The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms."
